A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. VASHTI MUSE ON BEING SELECTED AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION STUDENTS.

WHEREAS, Ms. Vashti Muse, an instructor at Hinds Community College at the Raymond Campus, was recently selected to receive the National Association for Developmental Education Award for Outstanding Service to Developmental Education Students; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Muse received a bachelor's and master's degree in education from Mississippi State University and a developmental education specialist certificate from Appalachian State University; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Muse is a former president of the National Association of Developmental Education and currently serves as the state coordinator for NADE 2000; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated and caring teacher, Ms. Muse has displayed a life-long commitment to quality instruction of all her students; and

WHEREAS, the National Association for Developmental Education Award for Outstanding Service to Developmental Education Students recognizes long-term contributions of time and energy to developmental students by a NADE member; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend such outstanding teachers as Ms. Vashti Muse, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of this state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Vashti Muse on receiving the National Association for Developmental Education Award for Outstanding Service to Developmental Education Students and extend to her our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Vashti Muse and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
